Happy October, My Readers! Yes, Some People just love October. It means Autumn, Pumpkins, Pumpkin-spice Lattes, and Of Course, Halloween. Me? I only like it because It is My Brother’s Birth-Month and for Fall Foliage but, Halloween is in Not My Favorite Holiday. Now, I know it is not October 1st when I wrote this but, It is already October in Most Parts of The World. So, Happy October, whether You are reading it Today (September 30th) or Reading it tomorrow. Anyway, onto This Week’s Newsletter. So, My Mom and I had One of Our Awesome and Deep Conversations that was part of My 2 AM Discussions. When I walked in, to say good Night to Her, Last Week, My Mom told me that She heard a Weird Noise coming from The Other Room where I was. I was then, like “What Noise?” It turned that One of The Videos I was watching was a bit Loud. Now, Of Course, I am respectful of My Mom but, the Same Time, I need it Loud so that I can hear Clearly. It is One of Things of having Narrow Passages in My Ears and Said Ears are clogged. Anyway, What preceded was a Conversation of Everything that I had Learned and Adding it things that Fascinated Me. We talked about Various Things but, I am only to put it in Short and Expand on Others. Did You know that There have been different Versions of Websites and Programs. Microsoft Word, What I am writing on. Back in The Late 90s’ used to WordArt and an Annoying Thing called “Clippy” that would try and get involved in Your Writing; Google Map used to be only centered around North America back in 2005; Facebook at One Time, used to be where You had Everything all on One Page, not to Mention that It used to be called “TheFacebook” if You can believe that. There are Many Other Versions that I could go into but, I digress. It is a Computer Nerd’s Dream! And, Also for a little Nostalgia there too.  Check out www.versionmuesum.com if You want to know more! Besides, There was talk of The Universe and How Big “Space” is. Like If You left Earth and went up or down, where would go. How Far would You Go? Something to Think about! And, Think of How Small that We are in The Universe! It is also Weird that You cannot see Space or The Stars during The Daytime (because of The Atmosphere) but, You can see The Stars and Space at Night Time. Weird!
Anyway, to The Most Interesting Topic, The Weather. So, The Most Fascinating Parts of Weather to Me are Hurricanes, Lake Effect Snow (Snow Squalls v. Squall Lines), and The Most Scary, Tornadoes. So, Lake Effect Snow. I am sure that a Person from Upstate New York can attest to This. You are Driving North on Interstate 81 from Syracuse to a A Community closer to Lake Ontario. It is Fine when You start, Nothing on The Ground. Dark Clouds in The Distance but, Otherwise Sunny when You start. Pretty Soon, It gets more and more cloudy and You know what is about to Happen! But, The Roads that were Nice and Clear, Get Wet because It is Starting to Snow. 10 Minutes Later, You literally cannot see The Road! Just Black Lines from The Car behind You. The Ground is covered in at least 6 Inches or more Snow. You wonder what happened to The Nice Weather?! Nothing on The Ground! By The Time You get Home or Wherever You are going, The Roads are covered in Snow and Snow Plows are Out in Force! It is amazing to me how in that Drive, You can go from Clear Skies and Nothing on The Ground to White-Out Conditions and Heavy Snow. I told My Mom about Snow Squalls versus Squall Lines. Snow Squalls, which happen in Northern States and Yes, Even Colorado is where It is Wind-Blown Snow. Where a Squall Line down here in Texas, meaning Wind-Driven Rain. I would imagine that It would be Easier to Drive in Windy Rain over Windy Snow. Because Snow sticks! Hurricanes are a Fascinating Force but, People don’t focus on One Thing about Them. Whenever I listen to The Weather Channel in Times of Hurricanes, I feel that They talk about The Category of Storm, The Rain, The Eye Wall/Eye Hole, and The Wind Speed but, not always The Gusts of Wind. For Example, A Storm can only be a Tropical Storm with Winds below 74 Miles an Hour BUT, the Wind Gusts could be in The 90’s. People often think, “It’s just a Tropical Storm! What Harm could It do?!” Even I, Myself wonder that! But, It is The Wind Gusts that are The Most Damaging. I watched a Couple of Videos (which is What My Mom heard) of The Sheer Power of Hurricanes. I watched Two Videos of The Force of Hurricane Michael, A Category 5 Hurricane that hit Florida’s Panhandle.  It had Winds of 150 Miles an Hour and Gusts of like 170 Miles an Hour. Now, The Thing about Gusts of Winds, is You never know when a Gust of Wind is coming unless You really listen for it. In Hurricanes, It sounds like a Roaring Train! It was Amazing to See The Wind Gusts because of all of a Sudden, It is Quickly White Out Conditions with a Bigger Gust of Wind than What is already happening! And, Finally, The Scariest Fascination is one that happens in My Part of The Country, Tornadoes. Now, Follow me with This Theory, Okay. Clouds are in The Sky, They are Fluffy and Innocent. The Ground is, well The Ground. It is Where We lives. Clouds stay in The Sky, We stay on The Ground. Makes Sense, right? Well, A Tornado, is a basically a Cloud that spins in a Tight Circle above in The Clouds, Creating what Weather Casters call a “Funnel Cloud”. Well, This “Funnel Cloud” gets starts spinning and Gets Lower to The Ground before Finally Touching The Ground. The Funnel Cloud is a Now a “Tornado” and Does Damage, depending on It’s “Category” from EF-0 (It used to F-0) to EF-5. EF-0 is nothing, just a few Wind Gust, maybe a Fence down. And EF-5, is like an Entire Neighborhood or Even an Entire Town Destroyed! Finally, The Tornado picks up off the ground and goes back to It’s Home in The Clouds. Very Weird, Right?! An “Innocent Cloud” that basically destroyed Your House, Town, Neighborhood, Whatever...A Cloud did that! It is Fascinating, Scary, and Weird at The Same Time! But, That is Weather for Ya. Some Things take Longer to Explain why They happen. I would imagine that Tornadoes, Hail, and Sleet v. Freezing Rain, would take More Detail to Explain. All in all, All of These Subjects each had Their Merits when We discussed them. Each One seemed to be More Fascinating than The Next! Anyway, I hope that You learned something of Fascination to You!
