The Christianville Spirit: UnderEstimating 19th Year

Happy 19th Year to Me & Happy October,

My Readers!

Wow! That is an Awesome Greeting This Week! Tell Us Why! Well, Believe it or not, This will be The First Newsletter of My 19th Year of Writing! Even Though It is a Few Days Early!

The Only Thing about it is that It kind of Confuses me a Bit and I will explain why. You See, It took me a while to start Writing My Newsletter at First,

My First Newsletter was on

November 1st of 2005

(by That Standard, in November would be

 My 20th Year of Writing)

but, I really didn’t get fully started until October 4th of 2006. I started writing on Different Days after that until I choose to Write on Wednesday because It was the Middle of Week, Nothing much was on TV, and We usually did not do anything that day anyway. What is Funny is that My Grandma Honey has been printing Each and Every Newsletter that I have written and One Time gave me the Prints that I now call My Records.

Well, I marked The First Newsletter that I wrote to be on October 4th, not realizing that I had written one more previous on November 1st of 2005,

making My 20th Year of Writing This Year because It was truly My First Newsletter.

However, I have been celebrating My Newsletter Years by The October Standard and It would not be Fair to basically skip a Year of Writing. Confusing, Right?! In Either Standard, I have been Writing a Long Time! So, I am thinking that I will use the October Standard and Celebrate each Writing Years in October, instead of November.

Anyway, on to This Week’s Newsletter!

So, to Celebrate My 19th Year of Writing, I am going to Reshare a Newsletter that explains that People with Special Needs (and, Us PTLSers) should not be UnderEstimated!

Enjoy and Happy 19th Year to Me!

This Newsletter was Originally Written on

October 9th, 2024 (Newsletter 874)

How about a New and Deep Newsletter!

So, Here We go! This Newsletter Idea came to Me from My Amazing Aunt Kathy.

As You become an Adult, You get access to The World, Quite Literally and Figuratively! And, You Find and Find Out things that are Good, Bad, and Ugly, depending on The Course Path of Your Life. It is The Beauty of Being an Adult, that You know and will know Things.

One of Those Things, of Many is really that, When It comes to Shooting for Your Dreams or Believing that You can do Something, even though People say that You can’t, They are basically Underestimating What a Person can and can’t do.

One Time after My Mom released what I referred to as

“Big Faith Box”, It made me wonder What is The Biggest Risk in Your Life that You have Taken was. I told My Mom that likely The Biggest Risk of My Life, I had taken was Probably going on a Cruise with My Mom or My Brother (or My Dad) and to Go with PTLS Family Members that I have only spend a Few Hours with in a Given Time, but Not Days.

My Mom always says that The

PTLS Outreach Foundation is all about The Motto of “Unlocking Potential”. I could tell you of Many Episodes where I or Even Someone that I know, “Unlocked My Potential”. I can think Two that I can think of.

One Day when My Brother and I were in High School, My Brother was driving Me Home as He normally did. When We got to The Street before Turning down Our Street, My Brother stopped The Car and Put on The Emergency Brake, and Out of No Where, “Okay, Your Driving!” I freaked out a bit, like “I’m Driving?!” By The Way, at This Point in My Life, I had Driven Go-Carts and Golf Carts, that’s about it.

Never have I ever Driven a Car! Luckily, My Brother had The Car in Park and Emergency Brake, because The First Thing I did was Press on The Gas! Anyway, He had Me Drive a bit down The Streets and Near a Park near Our House, Baring in Mind that We live a Suburb of Dallas! And, Of Course, He had My Mom come out as I drove Down The Street and Parked The Car in Our Driveway. Luckily, It was an Older Car that I was Driving but, Still. Why My Brother did that is Beyond Me but, He figured that since My Mom (for My Safety) said that I couldn’t Drive and My Brother, “Yeah Right! I’m going to Try!”

And, Second Example of course, was The Cruise that I went on with The PTLS Family Members! The Biggest Example was when I wanted to go on The Zipline! I literally, centered the Entire Trip on Going on The Zipline. The Day of, Naturally I freaked out a little bit and I was like “If We don’t go on The Zipline, It’s Okay!” and, “M”, The PTLS Father Figure said that “If We do The Zipline, It’s Okay! If Not, That’s Okay too”

Now Yes, The Zip line was a Challenge, would be an Understatement. However, “M” gave me The Option to do it or not, and He gave me The Support I needed to do it. At The Beginning, due to Liability Reasons, I had Sign My Life away (without My Guardian, Mom to look over It) which gave me Anxiety. Once I got going, My Anxiety was Okay, that until I started spinning and I was sure if I was supposed to or Not. and My Hands went Everywhere to reach for The Brake which I had to use My “Strong Hand” which was not that Strong.

I am Very Grateful to “M” for Encouraging Me to do that, because He saw My Potential!

The Point of This, is that Us PTLSers are Very Smart in Many Different Ways and People say that We can’t do Something, but Us PTLSers Excel in Other Ways, like Me with Geography! I am an Expert about Geography and Sometimes, I even Surprise Myself with The Things that I know! But, Us PTLSers should be seen for What We can do and The Things that We excel at. Not The Things that We Can’t do! All in all, Even though We may have some Delays in Development and Abilities, Pay Attention to all that We can do and help us get Strong in Those Skills!

Thanks For The Christianville Spirit. Don’t Underestimate Us! We have High Potential!
