Felix Navidad, My Readers!

Aww “Felix Navidad” by José Feliciano!

One of My Favourite Christmas Songs!

A Christmas Song that is Universal for Everyone, whether You celebrate Christmas or Not. It is a Good Song to sing in The Car while Christmas-ing about! I remember, Back in High School (Grade 10.5, I referred to it as. AKA “A Repeat of 10th Grade”). Myself and My Classmates in a Career Education Class were driving back to The School after One of Our Missions and This Song came on. To Say The Least, We had People of Various Beliefs in The Car with Us. I thought “This is a Universal Song. It is not too Mushy and It is not too Religious” and, We turned it up and We all sang this Song! That was Probably one of My Favourite Memories of That Class and One of Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas...

My Readers, It is that Time of Year, My Favourite Time of Year, Christmas. I know I said that probably Last Week and The Week before, but I mean it Every Time. Christmas is My Most Favourite Time of The Year. Every Year, in The Start of The Month I start to write about December and How Much I Love Christmas, then I get to This Week’s Newsletter, Perhaps One of The Biggest Newsletters in My Schedule, My Annual Christmas Newsletter, and Sometimes I use all the Good Ones up during My other December Joy Newsletters. It is Difficult to come up with a Topic after All of Those Brilliant Topics before. But, This Year I am going to do Something Different, Something Very Unique (sort of).

So, In this Apparent December-Christmas Series that I did not know that I was Writing about This Hallmark-Land Storyline....(Record-Scratching Sound)

Oh My Lanta’, My Readers! I have a Quite a Story to be Told over This Christmas Season, and

Fortunately, and Unfortunately, It’s One of Those Stories that I do not Like to Tell but, For Sake of ArgumentIt is Best to just Tell It and Get It over with.

The Short of It is basically, The Grinch (Yes, That Grinch!) tried to Steal My Christmas in a Way Much Worse than What I had Expected.

This Newsletter has a Medical Trigger Warning!

Just So You know!

I’m Calling This Story:

“The Grinch who Infected An Organ

(and, Tried to Steal Christmas)”

Honestly, If You were going to Ask Me what I had Planned for My Christmas Newsletter Season, I would have “I Don’t Know, Hallmark Christmas Themes, Perhaps?! The Mystical Theme and The Soulmate Theme Perhaps,

I can also Hear Marshall from How I Met Your Mother say

“Oh Honey”! And Then, When I mentioned about This Story, He would say “(Loudly) Oh Honey!”

So, This Grinch. This Grinch was One that I have Seen Before; You know, Kidney Stones in The Middle of The Night and Sicknesses in There too.

Nothing New!

On Wednesday, December 3rd, I felt Kidney Stones Pass with Getting Sick once. It was not until Sunday, December 7thIt was a Kidney Stone that lasted 4 Hours and Getting Sick, More Times than I can Count. So Much for The One and Done Streak!

The Next Day, Monday, My Side kept Hurting and We assumed for a Bit that It was Just Muscle Pain from Getting Sick All Night, and Trust me when I get Sick, I get Sick all of My Forces!

My Mom said, “I know You don’t Want to, but Let’s go to The ER, just to Check to See”

My Mom and I decided to go to an ER in Frisco instead of Plano because “The Activity might be Lower. I was The Only One! Thank God, I thought to Myself. After Riding in a Wheelchair to a CT Scan with a Nurse who said “The Q-Word" (Refer to My Superstition Newsletter); I thought to Myself; “It’s on Them, Not on Me!”.

The Doctor came in and Told Us, Two Bits of News (Both of Which were Terrifying)

One: I had a Severely Infected Gallbladder

Two: I would have to Transferred by Ambulance to (Said Plano Hospital that We were going-to-go)

No Matter What, I knew that This would be Terrifying because I would have to Ride in The Ambulance by Myself while My Mother drove Behind and Have A Surgery once I got There!

(In Christmas Speak) This is A Krampus-like Kind Terrifying Grinch!

Once, I got to The Plano Hospital

which had 60 People in The ER; In The One Trauma-1 Hospital in the County,

Good Lord Dallas Health Care System

 Get Your Shart Together, Man!

Anyway, The Doctor, The Surgeon and His Team Came in, Saying We need to Remove Your Galbladder because It is Really Infected and Could Start having Issues (like Leaking and turning dead and hard, etc.)

He said that They will remove it The Next Day (Tuesday, December 9th), so I will have to Stay in The Hospital Potentially until Thursday and/or Friday.

So Much for Only a 5 Hour Visit and then, Go Home!

Nasty Krampus Grinch, I tell ya What!

After I got Settled In to My Room, I had a Little Snack of Pudding and Cranberry Juice,

And, Tried (Keyword Here) Tried to Sleep.

Activity The Next Day, Started at 3 AM with Vital Checks, IV Changes, and Making Sure that I was Ready for Surgery. Oh and Having a Terrible Fever at The Same Time.

It turns out that My “Grinch” Gallbladder (aka G.B) had broken open and started Leaking late that Night!

I was Pretty Terrified about Having This Surgery but, I needed to get It Out, All Risks be Darned!

I was Very Lucky to have Somewhat-Faithful Doctor who Prayed over Me before I went to Sleep

After I woke up, Naturally I was pretty Loopy but, All I remember was Something about

The Isle of Capri (Bridgett’s Favourite Island, I said In My Head)

The Next Morning (Wednesday, December 10th),

I woke up to see The Sun Rising and Shining into

My Hospital Room, I told My Mom

“We’ve got to Worship”! So, I put on Some Worship Music

“How Great Thou Art” and “The Blessing” were The Songs Chosen.

(Editor Note: I normally don’t Worship to that Level, I mean I watch Church on Sunday and Wednesdays, but It’s never THAT Intense)

However, I felt the Need to Worship because In Kind of Scary Terms, “I could have Died” because The Gallbladder broke open and starting Leaking and If Nothing was Done, It probably could have Killed Me. It sounds Dramatic but, True.

A Few Things besides The Doctors and Nurses checking on Me Every 2 Hours or so, 2 Blood Drawings Overnight (Wednesday going into Thursday); Plus 3 IV Alarms within 2 Hours Overnight, and 2 IVs in My Hand at One Point;

A Few Things that I am truly Grateful for:

My Mom and Her Nursely Intuition

The Nurse Guys in The Ambulance keeping me Calm

The “Praying Doctor” in My Surgery

The Best Hospital Room on The Best Floor

Lots of Puddings and Cranberry Juices

And Of Course, as Cliche as It sounds,

Having Hallmark Channel on Throughout The Night with Christmas Movies on, in-between The Nurses Visits, Vital Checks, and IV Checks.

In All, This was Certainly a Christmas Grinch to Remember (or Forget; or Both) But, When I tell You that “It’s A Mean One!” Oh Do I Mean It!

By The Way, I should do an Honorable Mention to those who do not celebrate Christmas.
