So, A couple days before writing last week’s newsletter, Pete Delkus, the weather man on Channel 8, the ABC Station in Dallas told us that it was going to snow with accumulations but, they didn’t know how much. On Wednesday, Newsletter Day, they say that it’s going to snow 1 to 3 Inches and it’ll start in the afternoon. After the dogs barking at 3:30 in the Morning, the ground was clear while we were trying to see the dogs were barking at for some odd reason and kept my mom up until they stopped. Got My Mom up at 7:00AM to let them out to go potty, with something that even surprised her; there was already snow on the ground and lots of it. There was 3 Inches on the ground and still snowing that morning. So, she came to got me to look at the snow and I looked at the snow, recorded some for historical reasons and then, went to back to bed and got up at my normal time which was in the afternoon. Now, in a usual Dallas-Fort Worth Snow Storm, the snow is gone by the time I get up. So, when it was time for me to get up, I looked outside in hopes that the snow was there and it was. And, then I remembered what one of the reporters were saying on the news that morning, they said “Whether your child gets up at 7 AM or 2 in the afternoon, the snow will still be there.” so, after eating my brunch if you want to call it that, I played in the Snow with My Brother and it was fun. By the time, the evening came around it was still snowing and Pete Delkus was saying it was going to Snow 5 to 7 Inches. They were also saying this was already a historic snow storm because it never snows this much here in Plano and the funny thing of it was that that weekend was “All-Star Weekend” because of the 2010 NBA All-Star Game. Anyway, it continued to snow all day Thursday non-stop and snowed into early Friday Morning. Then, it stopped. So, Friday Morning My Mom got me up again at 7:00AM for another surprise, to see 6 to 9 Inches of Snow on the ground and I have to say what I saw was The Most Amazing Thing I’ve seen in My Life. Everything was covered in snow and I mean deep snow. The Cars, The Trees, and The Roads; Even the Signs were covered. Now, The Trees that Friday Morning were quite something. To give you a vision of what they looked like, they looked like Cheerleader Pom-Poms’ hanging down and a tree trunk holding them up. The ending Snow totals were quite amazing, here in Plano it snowed 9 Inches and the snow amount that beat many Dallas area records was 12 Inches(or A FOOT of Snow) fell at D/FW Airport. All in all here, that Snow Storm was one to remember. So, I gave it a name. I call it “The All-Star Historic Snow Storm”.
Thanks for Reading The Christianville Spirit. Enjoy the good things in Life like a snowy day because it might be awhile before it happens again.
