The Spirit that Gives Hope

December 16th, 2020 - TCS # 715

Merry Christmas, My Readers! Yes, You read that Correctly! My Readers, It is that Time of Year, My Favourite Time of Year, Christmas. I know I said that probably Last Week and The Week before, but I mean it Every Time. Christmas is My Most Favourite Time of The Year. Every Year, in The Start of The Month I start to write about December and How Much I Love Christmas, then I get to This Week’s Newsletter, Perhaps One of The Biggest Newsletters in My Schedule, My Annual Christmas Newsletter, and Sometimes I use all the Good Ones up during My other December Joy Newsletters. It is Difficult to come up with a Topic after All of Those Brilliant Topics before. But, This Year I am going to do Something Different, Something Very Unique. So, Let’s Preface This Topic before We start. As an Adult, The Idea of going to “Imaginationland”, is more often thought as Childish and Sometimes, In certain Context. It is. However, When You put it into Things like Real Life Dreams, It can be beneficial. Most People when They think of “Imaginationland”, They think of Unicorns, Imaginary Friends, and so on. However, I think a Little differently. So, Why am I telling you this? Well, I would be lying if I did not say that It has been a Crazy Year in This Year of The Rat of 2020. But, We deserve a little Magic! And, I am going to give it to You! So, I have written something similar to This in My “Ideal Christmas” Newsletter (Refer to it) if You have not read it! So, This will be sort of like that, but in a Different Way. Now, Believe me, There is No Such Thing as a “Perfect Christmas” and No Offense but, Anyone who tries usually Fails. Now, Yes, I realize that sounds a little Harsh but, It is True. The Reason of course, is Not-as-Harsh. Because People try too hard for “Perfect Christmas”. Perfect Gift (There is such a thing. It is from The Heart! Personally Made!); Perfect Christmas Tree (Real One, 5 Inches is Perfect for Me); and, Perfect Family (That is Out of Your Control, Believe Me.). The Point of that is that Christmas is What You make it.

So, Follow me into The Not-Perfect-but-Sweetest-Christmas that You have ever had. Now, Baring in Mind that This is not Everyone’s Vision but, This is Mine. Let’s Take a Ride for Christmas! Picture with Me, A Nice Cabin in Switzerland, overlooking The Most Beautiful Mountain Scenery! A Cozy Fire in The Fireplace, Christmas Music going. Come to Think of it, Imagine Christmas Music, not of Words but, perhaps something like Christmas Jazz playing in the Background with Your Cozy Fireplace! You can almost hear that Pop and Crackle Sound of The Fire going. You also have a Nice Hot Chocolate in Your Hand. Perhaps Original? Swiss Chocolate? Perhaps even Maple Chocolate? Yes, Believe it or not, There is Such a Thing. You are looking over at The Beautiful Christmas Tree shimmering with Lights and Decorations. You often Wonder How You can be so Blessed to be sitting here on This Comfy Couch looking at Your Surroundings. Of Course, It would not be Christmas without Family. I picture My Mom and Her Romantic Person, Myself and My Romantic Person, and My Brother and His Romantic Person all sitting Cozily by The Fire. Perhaps, My Brother is being His Goofy Self. My Mom is probably in the Background watching all this go on. I’m sitting on The Couch looking at The Fire, The View, and The Tree alternating between The Three. This particular Event, We did not get Gifts for Each other because, We are enjoying The Most Cozy, Ideal Christmas that I could ever Imagine. Tomorrow in This Vision , We will go into Town and Possibly go Caroling with Some Locals then, We might go Christmas Light Hunting to see The Christmas Lights in This Amazing, Hallmark-Like Swiss Christmas Town. But, At This Moment in Time, We have Nowhere to be except with Each Other. Just Us, the Mountains, The Fire, and The Christmas Tree! (Exhaling) Ahhh! The Best Christmas in History! Literally Living The Dream! It will be a Christmas for The Record Books! We all have a “Dream Christmas” in Our Hearts. It is a Perfect Christmas but, instead of Pressurized, It is so much better and so simple!

By The Way, I should do an Honorable Mention to those who do not celebrate Christmas. So, To You Hanukkah Celebrators, I wish you the Happiest of 8 Nights of Hanukkah. The Jewish Celebrate that, by the way. You get One Present for 8 Nights as well as Lighting The Menorah and Spinning The Dreidel. Kwanza is a Holiday celebrated in Africa. Happy Kwanza to You also! And, Finally, The Holiday of Yule. They celebrate The Winter Solstice, They are originators of the “Yule Log'' and “Yule-Tide Carols”. Happy Yule to You as Well. Just thought that I would mention them all! All in all, I Hope You have An Awesome (Insert Holiday Here) and From The Bottom of My Heart, Have a Merry & Blessed Christmas!

Thanks for Reading The Christianville Spirit. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah (or Chanukah), Happy Kwanza, and Blessed Yule from The Christianville Spirit!

The Christianville Spirit: Embrace The Christmas Star

                 The Christianville Spirit

                   The Spirit that Gives Hope

December 9th, 2020- TCS # 714

Embrace The Magic, My Readers! Boy, Do I mean This Greeting! Now, Yes, It does sound kind of Cheesy or Corny, or as they say in some countries, Cheeky, and Ya Know, It’s meant to! This Year was been One Crazy fest after Another! So, I think that We deserve a little Corny This Christmas! Seriously, I cannot tell you How Many Lifetime and Hallmark Christmas Movies that I have seen that have centered around that Corny Greeting. Well, Actually, Let’s Call it a Theory. In These Movies, More on Lifetime This Year with Some Hallmark in there too, Respectively; Have Mentioned about True Love and Christmas Magic and, Yes, Christmas Time, They can Mix Together. Only This of Year, can it be Mixed into The Most Awesome Mixer You can ever think of. Imagine The Most Tasteful Meal that You have ever had and Triple It! Yeah, You would Never Leave that Restaurant! True Love at Christmas is what The Lifetime Christmas Movie, “Twinkle All Way” mention about Something called “Christmas Bumps”. It is like Goosebumps that happen at Christmas Time when Something Special Happens or Of Course, You meet Someone who gives You “Christmas Bumps”. According to The Hallmark Christmas Movie, “Dear Santa , You walk up to a Christmas Tree, A Big and Real One. And, Make a Wish, Some Say that It’s Magical. Then, Going into a Different Segment of Christmas Magic, is Christmas Miracle. I wrote about a Christmas Miracle that I got to see happen. It actually 8 Years Old. Refer to The “Monica Miracle” Newsletter, If You want to Read about that! Now, Believe it or Not, There is another Segment of Christmas Magic that No One really thinks about. The Christmas Magic of The Stars! As in, The Celestial Stars! Now, I am going to give a More Official Statement about It and Then, I will add a little of My Christmas Magic Theory into It.

So, The Planets of Saturn and Jupiter will over The Course of a Month until December 21st, will be moving closer to Each Other as Christmas gets closer. On December 21st, which happens to The Winter Solstice, The Shortest Day of The Year, or What the Pagans of Europe call “Yule”, The Planets of Saturn and Jupiter will the Closest that They have ever been to Each Other. Now, To Us, Here on Earth because of The Great Distance between Us and Those Planets, We will not see The Planets themselves close together but, Instead We will see A Very Bright Star in The Sky because of The Two Planets being very Close to Each Other. Therefore, causing what People refer to as a “Christmas Star”. In Other Words, This “Christmas Star” has been happened in nearly 800 Years. Yes, You heard me. 800 Years! The Last Time that a “Christmas Star” occurred in The Year 1220. I have No Idea who was keeping Records back in The 1200’s but, Apparently, They did. Now, Us Christians, will tell you that Back when Jesus was alive, It was a Christmas Star that Led The Wisemen to where Jesus was. It makes me wonder though, What Planets were Close Together during Those Times, In The Year 1220 and in The Jesus Days. I wonder if It was Jupiter and Saturn or Maybe, Two Different Planets. Who Knows? If It were Anytime to Believe in The Magic of Christmas (or Christmas Magic), It would definitely be Then. So, Roll up and Listen to Some Christmas Songs and Watch some Christmas Movies that follow a Christmas Magic and/or True Love Theme. And, Definitely, Be Watching for that, Christmas Star on December 21st and I am told to be looking West to Southwest about 45 Minutes after Sunset to see the Christmas Magic Star! I Believe It will be Bright and Indeed, Merry! All in all, People says that It will be Quite a Merry Christmas if We follow that “Christmas Magic” Theory. I wish for all The Christmas Magic that Star can Muster for You, My Readers! And, Of Course, Some “Christmas Magic” for Me as well!

Thanks for Reading The Christianville Spirit. Look to The Christmas Star and Embrace the Magic!

The Christianville Spirit: Christmas Opening Numbers

              The Christianville Spirit

                  The Spirit that Gives Hope

December 2nd, 2020-TCS # 713

Happy December, My Readers! Wow! Honestly, I can not tell you How Relieved I am to say that! I was The First One to say “Let’s Put up The Tree and Call It a Year!” Sunday after Thanksgiving was as Long as I could wait and Up, The Christmas Tree went! Compared to The Normal December 1st Decoration Date, I call that a Record!

Happy December, Everyone! The Final Month of This Crazy-Beyond-Crazy Year of 2020! By The Way, 2020 according to The Lunar-Zodiac Calendar (Chinese New Year to Us, Americans) is Considered “The Year of The Rat”. Yes, Really. My Apologies for The Shivers that The Following Statement May Give You. In short, There are 12 Animals in The Lunar Calendar, The Rat being The Last One before It starts over again with The Ox. I say “Oxen” because It sounds better. For The Record, The Last Year of The Rat was 2008 and The Next One is in 2032. How The Chinese consider The Rat lucky is beyond Me! I digress. (Inhaling and Exhaling) Anyway, What a Year it has been, but More on that after Christmas. It is that Time of Year again though! It is My Favorite Time of Year, The Month of December filled with Christmas Cheer, Christmas Music, Christmas Lights, and above all, Christmas Magic (And, Believe Me, It can happen!). I know I Write The Following Statement Every Year but, I Love December because of One Holiday, Christmas. I do however have a bit of a Different Swing to My “Happy December” Newsletter. So, This December and Christmas Holiday Season, I am going to Talk about Something that My Friend, Deb and I talked about in Our “Shows”, as We call Our Talks. So, Question. Oh Boy! A Question, We have not had One of Those in a While. So, What is Your “Opening Number”, If You will, to The Christmas Holiday Season? What Song is Always The First One to get You into The Holiday Season? I know that for My Uncle Scott, It is “Christmas Vacation” from The Movie National Lampoons: Christmas Vacation. For Me, I always Open and Close The Holiday Season with “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” by N’Sync. I am Old-Fashioned that Way. Now, Some People will say that They have an “Opening Number” and Others will tell you that Whatever Song comes The Radio first is Their “Opening Song” is. But, Believe it or Not, These “Opening Numbers/Songs” have an Impact. What do I mean by That? Well, There are Some Songs like “Christmas Vacation” or “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” that I feel Ease You in The Christmas Spirit whereas Other Songs, Drop You into Christmas like It’s Nobody’s Business! Now, At The Realization that This Theory sounds a bit Cynical, I assure you that in My Heart, It is not Cynical. Okay, maybe a little. This Year did a Number on Me, as well Everyone Else.

Now, The Thing with This Theory is that it depends on The Person, just like Some People put their Christmas Tree up, literally The Day after Halloween, on November 1st. Some People wait until The Middle, Somewhere between Just before Thanksgiving to The First or Second Week of December. And, Finally, Those People who are Late to The Christmas Spirit Party and Wait until a Week before Christmas to Decorate or Even, Shop for Christmas Presents. Not Judging in Anyway. It makes me wonder though, Perhaps for Those People who don’t want to as They say “Be Assaulted by Christmas Music, Everywhere They go”, Perhaps are Listening The Wrong Kind of Christmas Music. In Other Words, The Ones that Drop You into Christmas and You feel like You just feel on Your Head. So, What is The Difference? Well, according The My Friend, Deb, It is Songs that mention about Snow, Winter, or Joyous Aspect of Christmas, Those Songs ease you into Christmas. A Few that come into Mind, Other that The Ones that I mentioned previously Perhaps start with “Frosty The Snowman” (Cheesy but, Easing), Then “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer” (A Nice Story about Santa’s Best Reindeer. Oh! And, You can Rehearse The Santa’s Reindeer Names!”, and End with “Santa Claus in Coming to Town” (Nothing is More Joyful than Santa coming to Town!). Then, You are eased into Christmas. Welcome to Christmas! Welcome The Holiday Season!

Then, Of Course, You have those like I said, before that Drop You into Christmas. Honestly, That is not Fair to do to People. Do Not Use Those Songs as “Opening Numbers”. Unless, that is, You are The Kind of Person who enjoys Being Dropped into Christmas. Let’s Hop on The Roller Coaster and Ride! To Drop You into Christmas, Myself and Deb, suggest Much More Emotional Songs to Start Your Holiday Season. This Year, We don’t need More Emotion than We already have. So, Stop Reading if You don’t want to Dive in! Stick The Easing Christmas Playlist. You have had Your Fair Warning! So, Start with Something like “Please Come Home for Christmas” by Any Artist. The Eagles are My Favourite Version of This Song. (Nothing says Christmas like Missing Your Family. Family is Very Important!), Then We go into Deeper Emotions with “I’ll have a Blue Christmas”, Most People recommend The Elvis Presley Version. (Blue Christmas is Self-Explanatory. A Sad Christmas), and Finally, The Saddest Song on The Christmas Dropping List, “Christmas Shoes” (Basically about a Child who must get Christmas Shoes from their Family Member because It is Their Last Christmas”. Now, Enough with The Boo-Hooing. There are Some Goofy and/or Mobid Christmas Songs that Can be Your Christmas “Opening Number”. The Following Songs come to Mind. “Grandma Got Ran over a Reindeer” (By Far, The Most Morbid Christmas Song!) and Of Course, “I  saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus” (Again, A Bit of Very Strange Christmas Song!). And, Finally, There are Some Feel-Good Christmas to be an “Opening Numbers”. Here is a Personal Favourite, “The 12 Days of Christmas” by The Muppets. The Best Classic Christmas Song by Version of It! Of Course, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” by Bare-Naked Ladies (Yes, It is a Religious Song but, To Me, Anyway. It is a Feel-Good Calming Song) and, “Christmas Time” by Bryan Adams. (Nothing says Christmas Spirit like People Young and Old being Cheerly Happy!). All in all, There are Many Christmas Songs out there! Happy or Sad. Good or Bad. So, Choose Your Best “Opening Number” and Of Course, Happy December and Welcome to The Holiday Season!

Thanks for Reading The Christianville Spirit. Choose Your “Opening Number” Wisely! It can Make or Break Your Christmas!
