The Spirit that Inspires The Soul
January 29th, 2025 – TCS # 886
Happy Lunar New Year, My Readers! And, Adding in a Happy February to You. So, I realize that as I am writing This Newsletter on January 29th but, I am sure that by The Time that You read it, It will be February! To be Fair, It seems like January was kind of a Slow and Long Month but, I’m Sure that won’t Last Long!
So, Today, Wednesday, January 29th is The Beginning of What We Americans refer to as “Chinese New Year” or
What is Commonly referred to as “Lunar New Year”
The Chinese believe that Every Year comes with It’s Own “Spirit Animal” (If You will) in which They believe that Each “Spirit Animal” has It’s Own Luck. They actually have a “Lunar New Year Calendar” of All The “Spirit Animal” Year, It goes in a Rotation Circle. In No Particular Order,
The Year of The Rabbit, Oxen, Rat, Dragon, Dog, Monkey, Goat, Tiger, Horse, Rooster, Pig and Of Course, This Year,
The Year 2025, The Year of The Snake and Yes, Seriously!
For The Record, Last Year of 2024 was
The Year of The Dragon.
So, Happy Lunar New Year! And,
Welcome to The Year of The Snake!
Congrats! You just turned from a Fire-Breathing Dragon to A Snake on The Ground. Or as My Mom says, A Snake in The Grass. So, What does That Mean?!
Okay, First of All, Chill Out a Second here, Okay?
So, The Dragon “Spirit Animal” It gives me Images of a Fire-Breathing Dragon like that from The Movie, “Shrek” If You don’t know what I’m talking about It, Please Watch that Movie! It’s Really Funny and It’ll explain about The Dragon.
But, Now, We have to Move on to Current Times,
For Those with a Fear of Snakes, Buckle Up! Because It’s going to a Wild Ride for a bit here!
So (Clearing Throat) Snakes! What do We know about Them? They’re Dangerous! You might say! Yeah.
Well, It depends on How You define a Snake and Sorry, but How The Chinese find Snakes to be Lucky is beyond Me but, That is by Their Definition. And, That’s Where I get confused a bit because I have heard that It is The Year of The (Something) Snake. As in, Not The Snake that We Americans are thinking of.
So, What is a Snake? Well, I told My Brother Last Night and My Mom during Our 2 AM Talk, It depends on How You define it. The First Thing that came to Mind was That
My Grandma on My Dad’s Side, We referred to Her as “Bella” (Short for Abuela) was Literally Terrified of Snakes!
My Brother (and, My Dad) used to Prank her with Fake Snakes when We were Kids. My Brother was quite the Prankster when He was Young.
The Second Thought that came to My Head (Trigger Alert Coming!) What Kind of Snake are We talking about?
A Harmless Garden Snake that just Eats Grass, Dirt, and Bugs or Are We Talking about a Very Dangerous Venomous Snake, like an Anaconda? What about Viper Snake? Or A King Cobra?
And, Then, There’s The Human Definition of a Snake!
Someone who is Very Sneaky, Tries to Stir up Drama (Both with Family and Friends), or Someone who betrays Someone. Generally Speaking, It is usually a Woman, but Yes, It can be a Man also. Orrr Maybe I have been watching Too Many Movies. To be Fair, at least in The Romantic Comedies that I have seen, Most (Keyword here: Most) are Woman but, In Some Romantic Comedies, They are Men. It depends on The Context, I guess. When It comes to Love and Being Someone’s Romantic Person falling for The Main Character, The Snake is The Woman. However, The Context of The Guy being in a High Business while The Main Character is falling, The Snake is The Man. It’s Interesting though! Now, are All Snakes Dangerous?! No. A Garden Snake is Not Dangerous! A King Cobra or A Rattler? Oh Yeah, They are Dangerous. So, Same Thing with “Spirit Animals”. Are All “Snake Spirit Animals” Dangerous?! No, Some could be Garden Snake kind of Spirit Animals, They want to wrap themselves around You like a Comfy Blanket and Love with You. Other “Snake Spirit Animals” are like, A Rattler or Viper Snakes! Be Extra Careful around Them! All in all, Like I said, It depends on How You define a Snake. They are Innocent unless They are Messed with, like Everything Else in Our World!
Thanks for Reading The Christianville Spirit. Embrace Your “Spirit Animal”. If You’re a Snake, Shed Your Shin for The Good.
